01/23/2012 - From the SEO: Upcoming education events for the Squadron are: the ABC course starting on Tuesday night January 10th at 7:00 PM and lasting 4 weeks every Tuesday Night. The week of 14-18 February there is the Boat Operators Course being held in Miami Dade County. We are working preparations on where this course will be held. Both the Commander and I are trying to get the class held at the Squadron and Bayfront Park, which will make it convenient for members of our Squadron to attend. This also could be a instructor course so we can teach this class to the public. Any member interested in taking a Seamanship course please let me or the Commander know so we can set one up.

09/24/2011 - Hey everyone, the Squadron did well at the District 8 Fall Conference...We took 2nd place in the teaching aid competition, 2nd place in Mehrer Award, 3rd place Rolands Award and 1st place in Sabad Award! All these awards are in education achievement! We also received the District 8 Distinctive Communicator award for the Fore & Aft Newsletter Congratulations to everyone in the Squadron!

04/30/2011 - Your Commander is at District 8 Spring Conference! The Squadron was awarded 2 National awards for increasing membership and 1 District Award Congrats to all members.

11/05/2010 - Everett J. Allen AP [PC], life time member HPS passed away on Tuesday, Nov 2. Everett was a highly decorated WW2 veteran, a successful businessman and a devout Christian and one of the most respected members of the Squadron. There will be a memorial service November 11 at 6pm at the First Baptist Church of Homestead on Krome Avenue . Burial will be at the military cemetery in Lake Worth on Nov. 13
